Hello,
This is my first blog, so please have some grace with me. I know this will evolve. Instead of waiting for it to be perfect, I’m going to dive in and begin. You are free to contact me with any questions or concerns. I am open and eager to hear your feedback, and you won’t hurt my feelings if you disagree with me, if you are respectful. This is a safe place to learn and grow without judgment.
If you are interested in learning about me, I will give you a broad overview here, I won’t elaborate much, and more tidbits in each post. If you have questions, please ask. I am open to all you have.
For one woman, I have had an inordinate number of unique experiences in my life. Here is a very quick sample. I have had approximately 28 addresses. I went to 9 schools in 12 years, 3 in the 8th grade. I worked at Disney World. I was in the military police in the Air Force. I worked at Father Flanagan’s Boys Home in Boystown, NE as an Assistant Family Teacher. We had 10 boys in the home. I was a surrogate mother, twice, and was featured on Japanese PBS for a surrogacy special.
I taught at a community college for 7 years. I was the East Coast Customer Service Manager and Traffic Manager at Gerber Baby Food. While there, I decided to attend tractor-trailer driving school to get my CDL. I thought that would help me learn about the delivery aspect of the business. That was an interesting experience.
For 20 years, I was a stay-at-home mom, and I homeschooled my 2 children. My 28-year-old son is now air refueling airplanes in the Air Force. My 13-year-old daughter, Claire, passed away on February 8, 2016.
Out of the blue, Claire started having double vision. An MRI was ordered, and an inoperable brain tumor, a DIPG tumor, was found in her brainstem. She lived 9 months after her diagnosis. Claire is now in heaven with Jesus. I’m sure I will talk more about this in future posts.
When I say I am open to conversation about what I write, I mean it. I speak plainly and I’m direct. I have been a teacher most of my adult life in one way or another. I not only enjoy classroom teaching but giving people food for thought about real life. Conversation is hugely important to me in truly connecting with people on a personal level. Isn’t that what we all crave, connection?!
I will post once per week. I will always have a post on Mondays, and I hope to post more as time goes by. Thank you for reading a bit about me. I look forward to connecting with you.

My Vision...
I hope you will communicate with me, share your stories and your struggles, ask questions, and live a happier, more peaceful and joyful life.
My Mission...
I know we all seem to learn things by trial and error in our own way and time. I believe we can learn from each other, though, so I can’t just sit here and waste what I’ve learned when I know it can help you. Use my hindsight for your foresight. I hope some of what I’ve learned will benefit you in your life now. I pray God will open your heart to whatever nuggets you gain from my life.
